I think these things are the final setups?
Yeah, I bought that line when it was just the one prototype, but we've seen several prototypes with this setup now and nothing we've seen has indicated anything different on the production cars. They may be real projectors, but they're ugly as hell and a HUGE departure from the concept.

I kinda like it. Might rub off on me once I see one in person. I wouldn't expect too many people on a mustang forum to say good things about a non-Ford I still think that car will look pretty sweet if painted like Bumble Bee. The back end of that car has a meaner look than the current stang (IMO)

Yes there were, which irritated me. My dealership sold GT's for MSRP only, while every other dealer in the area was anywhere from $2,000 to $10,000 over MSRP for a GT. At the beginning, getting a GT was hard, and getting a GT 5-speed was even harder, and getting a 5-speed GT with IUP was really hard.

It says all over the camaro forums that those are not the production headlights.

Could well be. With oil up to $108 a barrel - and forecast to hit $150 by year's end - it's unlikely any of these cars will be selling even 60,000 units by next year.

On top of which is this story about how the EPA just tightened air quality standards for the U.S.

Smoke 'em while ya got 'em, folks. I predict these cars will go the way of the dinosaur in the next 24 to 48 months.

Oh, and I agree those Camaro headlights are atrocious - spoil the whole car.

ok so that looks pretty hot if it were black with say some red stripes but those wheels do look quite sweet. And I must admit if I had to pick between this and the chally I would probly go with this because I love the rear quarters of this and the interior isn't ridiculously crappy for the money. But given the current stang vs. either of these I think I'd stick with what I've got. Although I do plan on test driving just to get a feel for the competition!

Funny how it's all in the details, isn't it?

The headlights are temporary units (the well informed boys over at www.camaro5.com seem to think so).

A few more for ya.

And a bit if Photoshopping to give it a more agressive stance.

They are temporary look at them close up and you see the lines don't mesh like something that would be mainstream.

Not liking the way the lower front bumper just has a shelf that starts and ends kinda nowhere....

They could have cleaned up the lines a lot better...and really wish they did.
I like the overall shape, but I just can't get past all the friggin' angles and lines.

How about doing something about that back end, which I think is by far the most ungainly aspect of the design (the front in these shots still look like half-complete prototypes, final product may gel better). Basically, flip the tail lights upside down so the wide portion is on the bottom....

The turn signals are supposedly going to be inboard like on the production clay.

Look closely at the light area.

They aren't just tacked in. The surrounds are Molded both to fit the current lights and to blend into the grille. You could sell me that part of that could be changed, but the round signals mounted inboard are integrated into the grille's structure.

More to the point, what would be the purpose of running around so many "production" prototypes with the wrong headlights? Why make everything else on the car as close to production as possible and then say "you know what, instead of putting the real lights in we're gonna whip up some fake ones for the hell of it" when they get to that point?

I don't like it, although I'm happy to see the Camaro return. I think the Mustang and Challenger are both better options.
