Did someone beat the eclipse with a Ugly stick. I prefer the current Model

 

I don't like the current or new model. I had the last year it looked good, 1999.

 

Ive never liked eclipses, but...

I dunno what you guys are talking about. 265 hp?? If they can deliver that to the ground without too much drama that car is gonna be a beast, FWD or not. If they come out wiht a GSX version, say they turbo the 3.5 MIVEC to about 350 hp and put it to the ground through a nice AWD system...i think thatd be pretty (in the words of eclipse fans) "tite".

HUUUge improvement over the currect model, unfortunately this means alot of 05 V6 mustangs are gonna have their rear ends handed to them, and im sure a few SN95 GT owners will be in for an unpleasant surprise as well.

 

This thing is likely to be ridiculusly priced to go along with it's questionable styling. I would bet that the base price for the Eclipse GT is every bit as much as Ford wants our beloved V-8 pwered Mustang GT. Mitsu would have been far better off to have simply put a swoopy body on top of an Evo chassis with awd and asked the same, or less, money.

Well it sorta harkens back to the previous model in my mind, however it has one big strike against it. Its still a mitsupoosi

that car has been around for a couple months now....ive seen a bunch of them on the road by me. Personally i think they're great lookin. i love eclipses, i drove my sisters 97 for 6 months before i got my car. I was a blast to drive, except for the fact that it was purple.... but these new ones, with 260 hp, have is gotta be fun to drive.

 

IMO, looks-wise, this is Mitsubishi's version of the Pontiac GTO - without the performance. Really dislike the chrome(d) spoiler/lip on the rear. Compared to the EVO's, these things are languishing on the lots out here.
