As my girlfriend (soon to be Fi-Nan-Cee by end of this week!!) and I begin our journey into marriage land, the next step is Child-land in a year or two. She has a '03 Corrola S (nice little car), and will need a bigger car to haul little ones around. (Since I have the Mach, and my Explorer is just a work truck) She and I have looked at Aviators, and a possible purchase of one coming of lease in the next 12-18 months. However, I am a follower of Station Wagons and like the looks of the Mazda 6 wagon, and S50 Volvo Wagon.

Any one driven a Mazda 6?

I won't hold my breathe that Ford builds a SVT Wagon version of the upcoming Futura/400 (or what ever it is named).

Haven't driven the wagon, but driven the sedan 6. It was peppy and sporty and overall fun to drive. We have three kids, so it's not big enough for us -- but i'd consider it.

Cool. I actually would like a Volvo V70-R, but they are rather expensive. She thinks I am crazy for liking wagons. But I am using the Mach (she could drive more if we get a wagon) as a ploy!!

My wife ended up with an Explorer. She likes to sit high up, and she liked the third row seat. Why no minivan you ask? She has an adversion to them apparently!

I would have liked that. It wouldn't have meant a thing to her!

Get a Magnum.
The Magnum looks really aggressive.

Aviators are really nice, very luxurious.

I like both of these.

Test drove a Mazda 6 wagon Saturday with the Fiancee. Really nice car, especially for the money. ($25,050). Good speed, lot's of features, nice ride, quiet. Gonna drive a V50 next weekend. And going to wait till the 500's come out to test drive one, and maybe get something late fall, early next year.

I like the Magnums, but there is something that isn't quite right, and I am a Ford guy. So if the company falls under the corporate umbrella I will bite. Unless we could afford a AMG wagon!

My vote is for the 6.

Just my 2 cents worth, The Audi S4 Avant is a cracking car, as quick as most things, but loads of space. Unfortunately, I do not know the cost in the States (even though the 1.8 TDI 180 is still quick and a little cheaper)

Volvo is, always has been, and in the forseeable future always will be the king of wagons.

V70 T5 baby.

I haven't driven 6 wagon but I own an '04 6s sedan. It's peppy, handles great (for a front driver), and has been completely trouble free since I bought it. I'm extremely pleased with it.

Now, if Mazda will make a Mazdaspeed version of the wagon like they are the sedan, then you'd have something pretty cool. Rumor has it will have a twin turbo 4 making about 276HP/265TQ and AWD. Here's a link to some info:

Mazda and Volvo both make nice wagons, and they're under the Ford umbrella, but have you looked at the Subaru Outback? It's one of my favorites.

I believe you can order Mazdaspeed parts on your own and pop 'em in...that be pretty sweet.

My 2cents, befriend someone from Down Under and have 'em import a Falcon Wagon...hehe...

A Volvo is a good idea, but expensive. I test drove a Mazda 3, it was pretty cool and fun, I'm sure it was the same for the 6. Shame Ford doesn't make any cool wagons here...

Maybe they'll take a hint...
