Considering our 05's still aren't keeping up with the LS1, I don't think they are playing catch up. I don't see how they are unveiling a new camaro considering there was a press release awhile back saying the new platform for a new 2 door V8 sports car from them was cancelled.

How nice of them to let Ford reap the profits of a sub-30,000 V8 RWD Coupe without compitition for the next four years. I'm sure all the way in 2009 Chevy will come out with a powerful Mustang fighter, but just remember around that time Ford will probably give the Stang a nice bump up in power and refresh in styling.

I actually feel bad for the old Camaro owners looking for something new. Hopefully either they can afford a Vette, or they don't mind the looks of the Cavalie....err, I mean GTO.

:scratch: :scratch: Aside from tuned SSs & Firehawks, my GT is holdin' its own... Dare I say a '03+ Vette or two I've edged up to 120mph

Well, the thing is, you KNOW they will use the 350 in their Camaro. I'm not sure how they put the Corvette motor in the Camaro and offer up a base model for $26,000. Perhaps with incentives and discounts, but as with the GTO, it has to be priced higher than the Mustang on the sticker. Not to mention that if there are any Camaro buyers left by that time, they will more than likely need to decide if they want to desert their modified Chargers, Challengers and Mustangs to go back to GM. In addition, if they let the same people design the Camaro that have been designing recent GM vehicles, the new Camaros will collect dust on lots right next to the old ones, and the new GTOs.
