mach 1 on the ground

Was watching a show on the tube tonight about a guy trying to break the land speed record. And I remebered a great pic of the Thrust SSC setting the current record

Check it out..that light in the front is the sound barrier being shattered 763MPH

thats crazy......i saw that special on discovery i think. really cool, but they didnt show enough driving.....more abouot the actual build of this teams own car

Indeed it is. If I remember, the engines are either from a F4 phantom or an F14. Something like that anyway. Same power as a jet plane, but with the aerilons upside down to keep it planted to the ground!
