LS3 Power Output

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=530654

Copied from ls2gto.com:

Stock 08 LS3 6-speed Corvette: 389.5whp, 371.0wtq!
After LT's and a K&N Intake (NO TUNE!!!), 423.4WHP, 426.2WTQ!!!

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1749971

WOW! So with just a CAI, LT's and a tune, we could see ~440ish whp! With equal torque! That's pretty darn close to C6 Z06 numbers in a much cheaper car. LG predicts ~480whp cam only on stock heads, and I imagine over 500whp with just heads/cam/boltons.

Also, they dyno'd an A6, and it dyno'd 370.8whp, 363.8wtq. How would you have liked to just bought a 2007 Z51 last week, and then see an 08 dyno 50whp higher a few days later?

07 was last year for the LS2,
LS3 is now in the 08 Corvette, and will (more than likely) be in the Camaro in one variant

Oh...

They need to stick with one name.

Their small block program just doesn't seem to have an end. The thing just keeps getting better and better.

Yup, the basic architecture is just so **** good, and the cylinder head tech is off the scale. Ford has always lagged in cylinderhead technology, maybe the Boss motors will change the trend. If they are an OHC configuration, they could concievably be better in design (no pushrods to work around).

No doubt about it, the Camaro is gonna spank our butts, stock for stock.

Must...resist...urge...to...supercharge.

Thanks for posting that. I need a now.

Because you already know stock for stock what each vehicle will have and weigh, right?

Do tell then...

Let me look into my crystal ball...

"Our butts" as in the current Stang. With 400 odd HP on tap, even if the Camaro weighs a 100 lbs or so more than our Stangs, I think we'll be outmatched. Plus the 'Maro will have IRS and the venerated Zeta platform.

Now, the next generation Stang, that's a different story. Who knows what sort of HP and chassis dynamics Ford will give it...

Point being, to have a chance at keeping up with the 'Maro stock vs. stock, you'll have to upgrade to the next Stang. I plan on keeping my car for six years, so I guess after '09 I'll be getting lots of challenges by new 'Maro owners...

So you're saying that the 2009/2010 Camaro will be faster than a stock 2005 Mustang ?!?!?

I'm downright SHOCKED!

That will be a first. The reason the last Camaro was cancelled was because the Mustang GT would spank it.
