I've been reading the Corvette Forum (www.corvetteforum) since the Z06 was announced. They seemed like a great group of fans, similar to our Mustang community here. Until, that is, the pricing was announced.

There's currently a 5+ page thread complaining that the Z06 doesn't have an interior like some 150K Porsche. And simultaneously there's a nother multi-page thread complaining that 75K is too much for a 500-hp world-class performance car. A couple of 'em are going to by Vipers because they can't afford the Z06.

Gee whiz. Lord, keep us Stangers from getting like that ever.

Some people are never happy.

And how does going to a Viper save them any money? They are saying they can't afford the Z06 so their going to buy a Viper that starts at $85,745?

Okay....

Bunch of cry babies, $65800.00 is a heck of a price for a 505hp, 3150 lb. car. They can cry, I'll be driving mine.

Then I'd have to give up some of my toys and you guys wouldn't want me to have to do that.

Here's the guy who's buying the Viper (okay, it's used, but still) because the Z06 was too expensive at 75k. And it wasn't just that he couldn't afford it: he really thinks GM missed the mark on the price, saying he's "moving on" from being a Vette fan.

And two threads of people complaining about the interior (to be fair, not all of them are, but enough to make you roll your eyes).

Obviously you haven't been in the 2005+ High Performance forum.

Not as bad as I imagined, you see similar attitudes on most car specfic forums. All it takes is 1-2 posters to make it bad.

Talk about Z06 zealots..wow..what a bunk of nutters. I think I'd have a viper as well though hehehe

as someone once said "Great car...Mad! But a great car"

I'm siding with the Viper guy on this one...I think overall the Z06's ugly looks can't make up for any performance. I just couldn't open my garage everyday and see that ugly car parked there.

That all being said. I'm wondering if the viper guy had any idea how much flak he'd stire up with that statement about jumping ship?

I have a friend who bought a Cadillac CTS because he didn't like the 05 Mustang's restyle. He said the Mustang GT was ugly. I guess he's never looked at his new car too closely .. and he used to own an 02 Mustang GT.
