Very cool video! Its funny though, as I though Dave Ressler from Ressler Chevrolet bought the 1st public ZR-1 at Barrett-Jackson last year for $1 Million. Unless the one Jay got, was "technically" not for public sale (which is usually the case with the very 1st few VIN number cars. The Ford GTs, the 1st 11 were prototypes, and cars that went to executives, and the 12th car was the 1st Customer Car. Either way, WAY TO GO JAY!!!

 

Half. LOL? Heck, give me only 3 cars, the Ford GT he has, the Shogun Fiesta, and the McLaren F1, and I'll be TOTALLY content!!!

But I didn't enjoy his video, Jay isn't as knowledgeable about cars as I thought. His misstatements about the sixth gear being a "top speed gear not and overdriven gear", "the same carbon-fiber brakes as the Ferrari" when they are carbon-ceramic brakes, and the heads up display only being available in the Corvette, he is supposed to be a great car guy, he should know these things...



Has the Nissan GT-R been beaten already? According to Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter, the ZR1 has, lapped the Ring in a time of 7 minutes 26.4 seconds. Tires were stock too, and so was fuel, which was normal pump juice and not racing liquid.

Development engineer Jim Mero drove the car’s rims off from a rolling start, but felt he could have gone even quicker around a few places. A strong headwind was felt rushing through the main straight as well. The Corvette ZR1 will go on sale later this year across special dealerships all over the globe. It will come with an extremely willing 638 bhp/ 475kW, 6.2-liter supercharged engine which can shoot the thunderous ZR1 from nothing to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, casting the quarter mile asunder in a blinking 11.3 seconds. Whoa!

 

I dont blame him, it's hard to keep that much knowledge on like 400 cars, plus all his other things

Very nice, I like the fact that Leno drives his cars. Man does he have a pretty amazing collection.

Real down-to-earth guy, too. Met him at a biker's hangout in Malibu and then again at a Stang meet. He brought in his GT350, totally factory stock original.

 

He is a pretty cool car guy. What a collection. Jay Leno rules.

That car that Dave Ressler bought was the only LeMans Blue ZR1. His had a vin # of 0001 but it has a completely different vin sequence than the actual production ZR1s. Jay's ZR1 is the first saleable car to the public. There are at least three ZR1s with a vin of 0001.
