Just thought I'd share this video footage of an electric vehicle catching on fire while inside somebody's home... But yet for those who want to push EV technology down our throats don't bother to reveal the potential safety risks involved nor just how dangerous these vehicles actually are... At any rate, luckily nobody was seriously injured or even worse. Anyhow, that's my rant for the day.

 

I think insurance companies should charge more for homeowners insurance if you have one of those in your garage. And I hate insurance companies, but let's be real. Everyone else's is going to be higher to pay claims like this.

Lee, the more widespread these EV's end up catching on fire, it's only going to be a matter of time before the insurance companies charge more for homeowners' insurance for those who own electric vehicles anyhow... Just as you said, everyone else's insurance policies are also going to increase as well in order to pay EV claims, as you know darn well the insurance companies aren't going to eat the costs on their end lol.

Well, unfortunately it's coming to the point where we're no longer going to have any say left... Thanks to our tree hugging legislators, they've already begun the process of forcing automakers to phase out production of internal combustion engine vehicles in favor of EV production!

Ken! We can only hope they also don't sell well enough here in North America as well.

 

Not only 'not safe' but they don't work either. I wish every taxpayer in the city limits of Asheville could see this waste of millions of dollars. The Asheville experiment of trying to become the San Francisco of the East is failing fast, from it's crime issues to this total joke. Where are the apologies from the genius experts??? Thank heavens I stayed 50 miles away when I retired to NC 22 years ago.

@NC14GT Just another fine example, as this 2024 Cadillac EV/SUV had to be towed to the dealership due to break down...

 

Unfortunately I think most insurance companies raise their rates right across the board whether you drive an ICB or Electric. Even IF the electric is causing the uptick.

 

Another thing people don't realize about EVs is they don't work as well in cold weather. Battery life is cut in half when it's below - 20C and charging time takes 3x as long. But yes let's faze out the combustion engine... 🙄

 

Came by a small Ford dealership today, had 6 Lightnings parked right in front.

 

This YouTube video confirms it... The vehicle is also a Mustang Mach-E.

 

They can stay there as far as I'm concerned!
