Interesting Article on the Relevance of the Nurburgring

Pretty good read. This just assures me that all published lap times from the ring should be taken with a grain of salt. But I'll still enjoy the youtube videos

very interesting regarding them not being full laps. I was always confused how my cars in forza 2 couldn't get very close to the times they run. and would make sense with me having to run a full lap.

Agree.

Great tool, and great for testing...but the laptimes..meh...the part about publishing them externally to me is no more than a media circus.

Not that one, I'll have to dig out the game and run my stock car again, I've pushed the minimum lap time down to the point where you need to be well into the 7's for the game to record a score on the Nurburgring.

I've spent most of the time trying to optimze the Mustang for my driving style (I dont really care for the analog controls - even though they offer better control) to exclusion of everything else, but I might start fiddling with the GT(40) in my e-garage and see what I can do.

In any event, IIRC on a bone stock Mustang I cracked the 8's

Mine was stock, but I salute you sir you are a better GT driver than I. I can't wait for the full version of GT5 to come out...

They have GT500's in forza? GT4 came out before the GT500 was revealed, it sucks. I hope they have downloaded cars in GT5, that way I can have all trim levels of the new stang in there
