It's the commercial where the woman is walking out to her G6 and the voice over sounds like NASA doing a countdown to a launch. When she starts the car, both the tach AND the speedo move with the speedo winding all the way around to the max MPH. Does the G6 actually do that when it's started or did they make a mistake in the editing?

First: What purpose does it serve to have the speedo wind all the way around when you start the car?

Second: In regards to the remote start, I believe (but I'm not sure) that in Texas it's the same.

I think i remember reading about that at some point. I dunno, i guess its just thrilling to see little needles spin around in a circle... VROOM!
The DeLorean in Back to the Future had a digital speedo so they had to get the hover conversion to supply the thrills.

sorry, just watched number 3 for the first time in like, 8 years

I haven't seen this commercial, but that sounds like the most lame thing ever.

I know that in my Mustang, when the battery was really low, my gauges did that. It is the computer resetting itself. Maybe the G6 resets everytime it is started

My guess is for testing purposes. Just like how all idiot lights come on when you first start the car...it's letting you know it works.

I don't think there is a state law yet but we have a city ordinance here which makes it illegal to leave your car unattended with the key in it and/or running. It's just a ticket(up to $500).

The reason I stated I thought it was the same in Texas was because I recall an incident at a state inspection station where the inspectors were telling people to park their cars out front and leave the keys in them. Some guy started an argument with the inspectors that they were telling to break the law because it was illegal under state law to leave your car unattended with the keys in it. The inspectors didn't dispute the assertion regarding the law but they did dispute that the car is unattended since it's parked right in front of the open garage where they do the inspections.

What you really have to ask yourself is "Why is a woman who can afford the house she is walking out of driving the replacement for the Grand Am?"

I don't think I would want a "cool" car like the G6 if it was given away to a bunch of women on "Oprah". Not my idea of "cool" after that.
