Unhappy

Right, my wife needed a new car because of the impending baby (dogs and babies do not mix in the back of a car..)

Anyway, after hunting around for ages looking at A4 wagons etc, I finally found the following car. It is an estate car, full leather interior, reversing sensors (good for wifey!), a/c, sunroof, lowish miles for year. I think it is a good spec car for the money I paid.

However.....there is just one problem, I now have to say four words that I never believed I would...........

those words are.....................

"I Purchased a Honda"

Honda Civic Aerodeck 1.6L Vtec (that's right, an amazing 112bhp!!)

Sorry all, I expect my Moderator privelages will be immediately revoked....... (but I promise you that no exterior mods are going to be made, or engine for that matter!)

C'mon, it's not so bad. If you've got a little one on the way, you'll be glad to have a car that's safe and has lots of room.

Out of so many beautiful European cars - you went for Honda??/

This would be my choice for sedan (if you can call it sedan).

Honda's are great...especially when you have a family. Our "other car" is a '03 Honda Element and it's just perfect! You have to do what's best for your family!

If your Element is perfect, then why do you want to trade it for Explorer?
I don't blame you, I would do same thing.

What would scare me about that car is the safety of the rear passengers during a rear end impact! I've been rear ended before a couple times....1st time in a Mercedes Benz 190E at 40-45mph by another Mercedes(totalled it) and the other in my '86 SVO at 15-20mph by a '65 Mustang Coupe(hurt it bad)....the Mercedes crumpled($8,000 damage) but all doors opened and closed perfectly, the SVO only suffered a broken taillight and damaged taillight panel($1,600 damage). The SVO was minor but the Benz accident was not...

Paul, I really don't know how good safety of this car is. This car is build in early 1990s. It was build by Italians (Fiat Tipo) and Mercedes is build by Germans.

I'll answer for her Zoran, she doesn't get on the site as much as I do.

She means reliability wise and safety wise its perfect, which it is. But she would like something a little more powerful in the future. The engine is a bit underpowered for the size of the vehicle and after driving my Stang she's been bit by the "power bug" . Plus she really likes the Explorers a lot. But right now we just want to get rid of the car payment. We've been offered my father's (was my grandmothers) 95 Olds Cutlass Cierra for $1700. It only has 30k on it so she would like to get rid of the Element in order to save up for a newer vehicle down the road. A house comes first though

Good inquiry

I have to say I,m a little heart broke. Had you looked at the Magnum? Cool family car. I wouldn't buy Honda, not that there is anything wrong with them. My boss owns several Honda Dealerships and is always trying to get me to buy one. Anyway I have heard that they were very safe to drive. With the little angel coming you have to think about that first. Well, I wish you the best.

Um ... this summer I "traded" Mustang for Skoda Felicia. Mustang was in garage and Skoda was my daily driver. Thank God that's over.

Is the Felicia 'that' bad? (Reference to the "Thank God that's over" quote.)
