It's still pretty light weight. Weights the same as Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ.

I have seen three of these(non turbo models) in person and its a total fail. Its a toyota matrix in korean form. Plus the drivers of all three were old women(70ish) which leads me to believe that only old women think this car is cool.

I usually like Korean cars, but I agree - Veloster looks even worse in person than on pictures.

To their target demographic, I'd say not at all a total fail. For a Mustang enthusiast, yes, total fail, for the other car buying public, not at all. You seem to forget that Prii, Insight and CR-Z are still sold in this country. And I don't think you've been in a Matrix. That was a complete fail.

I think it's just awkward in some ways. But for a progressive Korean I was pretty impressed. The interior trumped my Honda and the exterior had cues that I liked about it. Not my favorite but I've seen worse.
