Just a little blurb mentioning ford's "new V-8 to rival Chrysler's successful Hemi [...] that would launch, initially, in the F-Series. .... The 6.2 could find a home in the Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis, Lincoln Town Car, and perhaps even the Mustang, but that's little more than speculation at this point."

Wahoo!
They're saying its so early in development that they don't even know whether it'll be pushrod or OHC, apparently pushrod would make cylinder deactivation cheaper.

I dunno bout finding this in a mustang, but that would make for a sweet marauder or police interceptor crown vic.

A Lincoln with a Big Block finally!!!!!!!! Well aleast I can dream.

32V Pushrod would be optimum of both worlds I think.

Cool! I wonder with all the development Ford has done over the past years with the OHC why they would revert to pushrods. Again pure speculation as you mentioned from the article.

Either way, more good news on Fords engine development!

Thanks!

I still hold a candle for V-10, but I won't turn my nose up at a 6.2 V8

There is absolutely no way that this engine will be a pushrod engine. It would make vvt/vct impractical and I don't see ford ditching this now. Ford seems to be going the route of vvt/vct and CVT and 6 speed transmissions to improve MPG

One benefit of it being pushrod would be the engine would be physically narrower and would like fit between the Mustang's shock towers.

WIth all the good stuff Ford has done lately with their 3V engines, I would be suripised if they went back to a pushrod one.

Then again, I could be wrong.

Bigger bores and shorter deck hight will reduce the width of the Hurricane over the MOD motors. Don't expect a pushrod motor...

I wonder if they've thought about a new MOD architecture. the current one has served amazingly well and a "Hero" engine ould be a great opportunity to launch a new one.
