i really really like your eliminator, the sloped forward front end looks so much better, but yeah it does look a lot less like a disguised mustang in their version, even though its a lot uglier in my opinion.
the cougar originally was a gussed up mustang anyways, so i'd take your version.

hehe thanx guys...
Sallad...I think mine is better in the agressive dept. the HotRod car seems a tad tame. I never looked at the old ones as tame. I always thought they were mean looking.
Thanx!

I knew it would not take long, for a "new" Cougar rendition, once the Hot Rod rendering was released.
Love the Eliminator!! A "new" Cougar Eliminator is about the only car I would think about selling the Mach for!
Again, great as always!!

I added a little bit of brushed aluminum to the door handle and b-pillar to help even out all that chrome and brushed aluminum on the front.
I kinda picture the common XR7 having chrome accents and grill and the Eliminators as being brushed aluminum.

BM,
I knew it was only a matter of time before we saw evidence of the Cougar elsewhere.
I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw it in Hot Rod last week. Ahhhh, dreams. I was going to post those pics (Cobra and Cougar) when I got back in town Sunday, but I had no internet connection, and well, I see I'm too late.
I love what you have done with it. Except the front end is slanted too much in my opinion. I think it makes it look more Lincolnesque than Cougariffic.
Amazing work as usual!

hey doug,
your original cougar eliminator kicks the taters out of hot rod's cougor. i love the front forward look. i especially love the upward curve right on top of the eliminator emblem
WOW. whyt dont they make affordable cars with curves like that anymore

Take a look at the old 67-70 Cougars...They were NOT aggressive cars. THey were more luxury oriented..not really luxury, but definatly not muscle car. They seemed really refined. I think the Hotrod drawing gives PERFECT justice to the Cougar name. Honestly they coudlnt' have done it better. Also, it is totally modern. If you want to bring the Cougar back you don't want it to be another "retro" because people will complain. YOu want it to be the more luxury oriented car...Hotrod literally took the words out of my mouth. A few months ago, I was saying how the Cougar should be built...
I said, it should be a bit longer, and should have the 4.6 as the BASE engine. I then said the eliminator should be available with about a 375HP engine. Almost identical to hotrod.
THis is how it should be done!!!
