Is this the first you've heard of the Z06 Carbon?

They are quite impressive and to me, the best iteration of the Corvette. Say what you will about the ZR1 but I'll take the Z06 Carbon any day.

I like Corvette's but not really knowledgeable and never heard of the Carbon Edition.

Friend and I went to Chevy dealer at lunch today so he could test drive a Camaro. While he was out with car I was roaming the lot and came across the Carbon Corvette.

Salesman came over and said it just came in yesterday and a guy test drove it but couldn't decide whether he wanted it. He slept on it and called this morning saying he was gonna take it. The car was all prepped and ready to go with no Window Sticker in it. So I had no idea what it was. I did ask the salesman how much and he said Sticker was $99K.

When I got back to work I did some research and discovered it was the Carbon Z06.

There was no decal like in the picture ... it may have been in the trunk for the owner to install ...

New owner did show up while I was there and they were doing the Walk Through while we were leaving.

It's all good. They weren't really ever noted by any means. It just kind of showed up. So I could see the confusion. I have always been floored by the Z06, even the C5's. Then the new car came out and I loved the hips and super wide wheels. Then the ZR1 came out with all it's goodies. About that time I thought, you know what would be great with all this? A Z06. And sure enough, about that time they were releasing the Z06 Carbon and I about passed out. GM doing something RIGHT?! Impressive. Unfortunately they do come with one serious price tag. But since the Z06 is no slouch on the pocket book, I could only assume as much. But to own a Ferrari's worth of performance without all of the burning mess, I'd say it's worth it.

Side note: The pic above has a painted roof, all the Carbon's I've seen still have the Carbon Fiber black roof. Maybe it was just a detail they forgot while doing the render?
