Hipo Sedan Wars gets a new player

The new issue of Autoweek has a feature story on the 300C SRT-8.
It has the new 6.1 Hemi with 425 hp & 420 tq.
"...orange block with black cylinder heads, just like the Hemis of old..."
No real body work changes--20 wheels and Brembos on all corners.
On sale in February.
Article ended with a hint that the bigger Hemi engine could go in a Dodge version--maybe a new power pack for a "Charger" model.
Sorry, can't post a link to the article as AW hasn't updated their page with new issue, yet.
Sooo...how will GM and Ford answer this one?

I'm sure they won't sell all that well. Mainly to rappers and athletes.

yeah right.
The 300c is an amazing car that everyone likes. I've seen young guys, ols ladies, business men, high school students, college girls, soccer moms etc driving some version of a 300. We all know how well the Hemi gimmick sells. S0 why would an extremely high performance 300C not sell at all?

Price.
Not that they won't sell at all, but that they won't sell all that well. Maybe at first, as a novelty, but the thing is just too heavy to get a ton of performance out of it.
And, uh, not everyone likes it.

That thing is gorgeous. If I could only convince the wife to trade the Escape in, but then again, we'd have to deal with all the speeding tickets she'd be getting.
"It should all be good for quarter-mile times in the high 13s and 0-to-60-mph runs in the low-five-second range."
