The 1000-hp package ups the ante – and the list of replaced parts. First thing to go is the 6.2-liter block replaced by a 7.0-liter (427ci) LS V-8 stuffed with balanced and blueprinted, forged steel internals and low compression pistons. Cylinder heads, camshaft, and fuel systems haven’t been ignored. Replacing the supercharger is a pair of twin ball bearing turbochargers with dual wastegates controlled by a boost-controller. Intake air leaving the turbochargers is routed by stainless steel piping through an air-to-air intercooler. Fuel, air and ignition timing is controlled by the HPE engine management calibration.
