Smile Help me find a beater!!

Hey TMS,
I'm looking for a manual, 2 door, rwd, mid 80's to early 90's import car.
The price max is set at $1,000.
I found this cool 1987 Toyota MR2, rwd, coupe, t-top, 5 speed for $850.

Do you guys have any suggestions?
Nissan 240sx, Toyota Celica, etc.

And if you guys want you can actually help me look, lol.
I need something in Los Angeles, CA.

TIA

'82 to '85 Celica's are great. RWD and well built.

I wouldn't touch ANY four cylinder Ford from the '80s. I wouldn't touch ANY four cylinder American car from the '80s, as a matter of fact. They were all notoriously crappy.

Miatas are rwd too. Not bad little cars from what I have heard. There's also supras. And pretty much almost all import trucks are rwd (unless they are 4wd of course)

I'm just curious as to why you are looking for one in the first place? Maybe the purpose might give you more accurate suggestions.
