So 0-60 in 4.7? 340 Hp. So just in case all are worried, a lower powered Mustang can produce these numbers so all you Hp junkies, may need not worry, the performance is out there. Let's not get caught up in the how much more horsepower can it have if the overall performance is the goal.
This will really throw a monkey wrench in my decision when it comes time.

I like it probasbly more than the M3, but still needs about 100 more HP! What good is a car though that can't be goaded into a mid corner seat cushion sucking 720 with just a slight prod on the gas

A 135i coupe is on my shortlist of cars for whenever we're ready (hopefully later this year)...... but not an M; to much $$ for the difference in performance IMO.

The 1M may be the least overpriced of the 1-series line as compared to the (overpriced) 3-Series, but it's still crazy overpriced in this land we call reality. Just cheeses me off that BMW would create the 1-series as a near-perfect entry-level RWD BMW and then completely price it out of the entry level market.

Mostly the size and how it handles in rain and snow. He also complains about how expensive everything is that isn't covered by the maintenance plan. The car isn't a year old and has already needed two rear tires and an alignment. And the ride is brutal. The combination of run flats and sports suspension is not good.

At least I'd pay full price for a new Mustang and know I'm getting my money's worth, even with my faults of some cheap interior parts.

The 1M does look like a very nice ride, a very nice $40K and change ride but at $47K base, that's just too much. A similarly priced Boss 302 will likely obliterate these, at least in terms of pure numbers, and even a regular 5.0 would be a close race for way less.
Yes, I fully appreciate the overall higher level of features and refinement a BMW offers, but only up to a point and that $47K tag I think exceeds that point by at least $5K. Were BMW to have kept the price close to $40K, they may have had a very compelling car, at $47K they have a rather interesting car that will probably appeal primarily to a limited set of "gotta have" BMW aficionados.
While BMWs are great cars overall, I think their overall value is being eroded by their too high pricing, both at the showroom floor and especially, for parts and service later on which can result in a death of a thousand cuts to the wallet in terms of the ownership experience.
