This week has been a bit crazy. On Sunday, my fiancée was in a car accident, totaling her 2009 Mazda6. An older woman didn't take her medication, had an episode, causing her to miss a left turn and nearly hit my fiancée head on. Luckily, she saw this and tried to get out of the way somewhat. She was taken to the hospital and released that night with a few nasty bruises and the inability to put weight on her left leg. The other party didn't even remember the accident.







We toyed with the idea of a Fusion, but couldn't find one with the colors/options we wanted in a reasonable time frame. I stumbled across a few leftover 2013 Mazda6's in the region, and we(she) settled on a fully loaded V6 Grand Touring model in Polished Slate (grey). Picking it up Monday.

 

Ouch!! glad she was not seriously hurt... My last vehicle was an 09 Mazda 6, and I was broad-sided on the driver door on I-96 and Southfield... Those side curtains were a blessing and walked with just a sore shoulder...

Didnt look at the new Mazda 6? Its AWESOME. Much better than the outgoing model. Was it the incentives for the outgoing model that made you get another?

 

Yes they are. I think the side seat airbag is what tagged her in the hip, but she's gonna be fine.

We did, but the lack of a more potent engine and the great luck we had with her '09 leaned her back to another one. Her old one was an S Touring, with cloth, Bose stereo, moonroof, and advanced keyless, but the new one is fully loaded except for navigation. The incentives are pretty good too, invoice -$3000 off. I would have preferred to put a 2013 Fusion in the driveway, but this is her car and, as we now know, they're pretty darn safe.

 

Sorry to hear, hope she heals up fine. Good news on the quick replacement ride!

 

Wow, the car's a mess.............but the new one looks good.

Hope Lindsey is back on both feet soon..............Mel's been in 2 nasty accidents (neither her fault) and getting that phonecall is scary.

 

Sounds like she pays attention when she drives, an increasingly rare practice. Nice new ride; congrats!
