GT still in high demand?
Hello all:
I was wondering what the demand is for the GT. Has it tapered off any? The reason I ask is that I was thinking about the correspondence between demand and price and actual sales of this car. Could this serve as a model to see what dealer write up verses demand will be like for the GT Mustang and the GT 500?
There is dealer in the area that has had a red GT with white stripes for a long time. They say that they have in on Ebay for a minimum bid of 220K. It hasn't sold, but is generating some traffic for their dealership. It is kind of strange, they have a GT supercar, but no Mustang GT's.

I think these cars have a very high demand if priced correctly. From what I have read, the cars are just sitting on the lots because they are asking too much. Let's be realistic, it's a great car at $150K. but above that, it is not worth it. I think people who are aware of the value of this car are sitting back and waiting for the prices to come down.
I have maintained all along that these prices will head back to retail. If you just look at history, you'll see that. I know of people who paid $40K over sticker for the car I have (SL500). It is utterly foolish.
Contrary to what people are saying, the cars are not investments!!! By the time that these cars become collectible or investment potential, I'll be too old to drive.
Give all that, I guess time will tell.
