When I read the subject I immediately thought of the e63.
For a wagon... the thing is pretty legit.

It is certainly in the conversation!

Though the RS6 Avant from a few years ago is still at the top of my list.

But you know what the AMG has over all those? That V8.

AMG V8s sound like god. It's ridiculous.

My personal favorite is Audi RS2.
I always loved Audi 80 (my uncle used to have one during the 1990s) and this wagon based on it looks just great. Plus it's really powerful too (2.2L turbo I5 311 hp).

When it comes to classic wagons I love late 1950s Mercurys.

I like the Benz, but it would be a tough call between it and the CTS-V wagon for me. Especially considering that the one Motor Trend tested (looks to be the same one in the pics above) stickered at over $110K and the Caddy is in the $65-70K range.

I've always had a soft spot for "power wagon," perhaps from spending many formative years riding in big block Ford Country Squire station wagons. The AMG E63 is at the apex of its kind with simply crazy acceleration.

CTS-V seems to be a way better car and way cheaper.

Does the Porsche Panamera classify as a wagon? It's a sweet machine for sure. I hate Audi.
