Greatest wagon ever built?

2012 Mercedes E63 AMG, 5.5L twin-turbo V8 rated at 550 hp and 590 lb ft torque.

That is quite the grocery getter!

I would still rather have a v70 R

When I read the subject I immediately thought of the e63.
For a wagon... the thing is pretty legit.

It is certainly in the conversation! :nice:

Though the RS6 Avant from a few years ago is still at the top of my list.

But you know what the AMG has over all those? That V8.

AMG V8s sound like god. It's ridiculous.

National Lampoons sport wagon FTW!

it looks hungry

My personal favorite is Audi RS2.
I always loved Audi 80 (my uncle used to have one during the 1990s) and this wagon based on it looks just great. Plus it's really powerful too (2.2L turbo I5 311 hp).

When it comes to classic wagons I love late 1950s Mercurys.

I really liked what dodge did with thier wagon. They should have done a srt 8 or10 with it

Zastava_101 2/5/12 06:25 PM

Which Dodge wagon are you talking about it? Magnum?

I like the Benz, but it would be a tough call between it and the CTS-V wagon for me. Especially considering that the one Motor Trend tested (looks to be the same one in the pics above) stickered at over $110K and the Caddy is in the $65-70K range.

I've always had a soft spot for "power wagon," perhaps from spending many formative years riding in big block Ford Country Squire station wagons. The AMG E63 is at the apex of its kind with simply crazy acceleration.

GT1000 2/6/12 09:27 AM

CTS-V seems to be a way better car and way cheaper.

Zastava_101 2/6/12 09:37 AM

Cheaper yes, but I wouldn't say "better" ...

Does the Porsche Panamera classify as a wagon? It's a sweet machine for sure. I hate Audi.
