Yep... Dealer called the other day asking me to trade my 08 C6 in for an 08 C6 Z06. They offered me employee pricing which is about $12,000 off and they also offered me 0% for 48. I laughed at them when I heard what they offered me on my trade.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did they offer you for your 'Vette?

A few months ago when I was actually considering a Z, I was offered 40k from one dealer, and the one that called me offered me 36k. Had they offered me 42 I would have taken it. I know its a crazy price to want for the car considering that I only paid 43 for it new, but I don't need a Z. And if I get one, I am going to have to get one heck of a deal for mine.

No disrespect intended, but they were probably off their not to offer you 36k for a car you could buy new for 43k unless they were using rebates/discounts to pad the difference. (and at this point you can probably buy one for less than 43k truth be told) By the time they accounted for all of their incurred costs they would have to ask 40k for it at the very least to leave enough wiggle room for negotiating and still actually make a reasonable dime on it. I can buy any number of 2008 C6 Vettes right now with less than 10k on the odo for ~39k all day long without negotiating, as that is what they are advertising them for.

I can understand why you said no, but I don't think I would have been laughing at them.

Forget the Z06, just stick a widebody on yours. You would never need that extra 70hp. Plus you lose the open top.

But aluminum vs steel chassis is pretty huge difference.

The reason that I laughed is because another dealer offered me 40K for it an hour earlier. Had it been 0% for 72 like it was on the other models, I probably would have considered it. Oh well... Im happy with my Vette, and it will be all paid for by the time I graduate college.

It wont be long my friend. That is my winter project. I have to buy a new laptop, then all my money is going to a widebody.

Only if you track it often. Mine has only been to the drag strip once, and it may not go back for a while. I think I want to make it more of a show car than a racer. Ill buy a fox body to race one day in the future.
