I think the door is still wide pen for Dodge here. The Viper V10 is still based on the old smallblock-based design IIRC and not on the new Hemi V-8. Were Dodge to retool and employ a 'Hemi' V10 at some point, which would seem logical, hp would seem likely rise even more.

Nothing wrong with the old LA-based Viper 10.
Hell, people regularly get as much or more power than the SRT-10 is making from modernized 360s but with 2 less cylinders and less displacement...

Man..seems like 2010 is THE year for redesigns.

Funny how this instantly changed from "Blue Devil Confirmed" to "I wonder what Vipers next step will be"
Great idea to both GM and Dodge here.
That confrence to approve the two must have sounded similar to
-Well we have found that there is no way in hell that we can keep the wheels planted with 500 horsepower... Do you think it would work better if we had 600?
-Sounds great. I heard the other guys were planning 600, 605 sound good?
-Yup, and while we're at it, might as well stir the rumor pot saying we have a lot more coming..
-What if the other guys hit what our rumors are saying we're goin for?...
-700 horse anyone?
