ford and mazda have been moving away from each other for a while now. last year when I went to 3 different mazda dealers they said my ford Zplan was still honored but that mazda was not part of ford.

Been a long time coming. Frankly, the relationship seemed to suffer for the buy in. It seemed to me that the pressures of keeping a Ford managed Mazda appropriately Japanese only served to muddy the relationship.

Ford says Mazda stake unchanged
Ford Motor Co. said there has been no change in its stake in Mazda Motor Corp. after Nikkei newspaper in Tokyo reported the U.S. automaker plans to cut its Mazda holding to less than 3 percent.
