Looks only OK in my opinon. Now I already have a Mustang but I am only bias as of now. I can tell you when I first saw the new Mustang on a Monday during a break in a football game last year I was FLOORED even with the stang concept I thought it looked amazing, but this just does not make me want to break my neck just to get a second look like the stang. I can't put my finger on it but it's just missing something.

Exactly - as JeffreyDJ said, they it just looks like they just built a current version of the old car - they didn't seem to reinterpret anything.....

To me, the new Mustang pops.
The Challenger looks like Foose took an old Challenger and did his thing to it.

Plus, don't ask me HOW, but I look at the front and I CANNOT help having some psychic flash and being able to see that it is based on the 300 frame.....

I'm not big fan of new Challenger, but maybe my opinion will chance once I see it in person. I didn't like Charger either when it was first introduced, but I wouldn't mind owning R/T or Daytona (still, my favorite Charger is 1968 440 cid).

Good looking car. Not perfect, but much better than anything else "retro" which has come out in the last few years (barring the Mustang).

If they keep it like this (or at least VERY close), I can see myself getting one.
I love my Mustang GT, but this one is just pure automotive sex...

PS: Adrenalin, sorry for the double post. Didn't mean to cause troubles, ok ?

No problems at all. I love the "merge" feature

huh? I am talking about the purple one you just posted. Looks just like Burningman's. Just want to make sure the designer gets the proper credit for his work.

It would be nice to see it made

Too bad they didn't do something like that with the Charger

As far as I am concerned it doesn't really matter what they do with the Challenger Im not giving up my Mustang GT

I like the looks of the challenger, I think it looks very retro and is the only way to bring back the classic name.

I doubt the standard production version will have a 6.1L Hemi in it. It will price itself out of the market and be just a niche vehicle. I am sure an SRT model will have that engine though.

It will be interesting to see how Dodge approaches this car... will they have entry-level models with V6's and small wheels or will they be targeting the higher-end market with Hemi-only power and lower volume.

I think the Mustang (especially a future s/e) can compete as the Challenger will probably be heavier (my guess)

By the time the Challenger comes out (09 or so), there should be a refreshed Mustang with hopefully a power boost and an IRS. There will hopefully be a powered up special edition inserted into the lineup full-time between the GT and SVT models to act as a direct competitor to the GTO/Challengers.

That would be sweet to have both a Mustang GT, SE, or GT500 AND a Challenger in my garage...gotta have something to dream about, right? B)

While I'm still a die-hard Mustang devotee, I will admit I do like that, much better than the Charger or other recent DC offerings. I'd like to see DC build that car, it would sell well and give the Mustang some competition - I love it, muscle car wars, 21st century style!!

I think it looks great! Classic look with modern underpinnings Like adrenalin said, my 300HP just isn't going to be enough when all these other high HP cars start coming out. I'll have to supercharge or upgrade to an SE just to keep up. GTO's with 400HP are bad enough.
