Sweet. I would actually consider trading my Mustang in for that car right there. The Challenger concept there looks more retro than the Mustang even dreams of looking. JMO. It's just sweet. Of course if I could give my mom the Mustang & trade in her Ranger for the Challenger then I could have the best of both worlds.

Anyway. It's just a sweet looking car & I hope they actually produce it. Of course my blue blooded family would all kick the bucket if I came home in one. But.......Who cares?

Is it me, or is it too bulbous? Some of the lenght on the side should be cut down to give it a faster look. Or maybe they can color the bottom black?
And what is it with that lame grill! They did a good job integrating it into the car, but I'm tired of it.

anyways, that is one sweet looking car... and of course, not as good looking as Doug's which should have been the one produced.

Also, I remember reading that the Challenger was not going to be retro? that looks retro to me!

 

That's nice...but I still prefer the Mustang's looks.

And I, too, would like to see what the production version looks like. Remember there was a HUGE difference in the Mustang concept and the actual production model.

 

if it looks like that in production trim, has a decent interior and power to boot all for a price tag thats comprable to the Mustang GT. They gonna sell like hot cakes.

Thats pretty darn sweet looking.

But to get a charger up to par with the Mustang GT you gotta spend about 38K, probably be the same with the challenger if it makes it to market.

 

Its not a bad looking concept car, but its just bit way too retro for me...its almost a carbon copy of a 70 Challenger in my eyes. The Current Mustang Looks like a 65-68 Mustang, but is more up-to date interpertation then a direct copy.

 

Looks only OK in my opinon. Now I already have a Mustang but I am only bias as of now. I can tell you when I first saw the new Mustang on a Monday during a break in a football game last year I was FLOORED even with the stang concept I thought it looked amazing, but this just does not make me want to break my neck just to get a second look like the stang. I can't put my finger on it but it's just missing something.

 

Its the front grill for me that is off. They literally built a classic car, they didn't reinterpret it. Howver, overall, I like it.

I just wonder what it'll REALLY look likeif it makes it production. Also, it looks like it'll way well over what a Mustang weighs. Very bulky looking.

 

I agree. The F-body had 305hp in 1998!

Ford really took the easy way since it had no competition and only have it 300hp.

 

Definitely a possibility for Dodge. Good retro look. I agree I don't like it 100%, but very cool anyway. MUCH better than the Charger!

 

Back end looks killer, front end sucks. Front end is to "wedge" shaped for me. You have this nice beefy tail end that from the second picture looks perfect. Then the front tapers down to these little beady headlights and a wedge shaped facia. Make the lower facia less angled (like the Stang) beef up the headlights and you have a winner IMO.

 

One thing about Chrysler. When they show you a concept car, it has more than a 50% chance of making it to production. IE: Prowler, PT Cruiser, Viper... all cars that we looked at said, no way. But they made them. So to bring the Challenger to market could be a very real possibility.

That said, Mustang is still my first choice. I don't even have to wait to compare because we all can agree the Challenger will be well into the mid $30's (and I'm OK with that... not overpriced for what you'll get) but when you can have an '07 Muzzy for $28k (albeit with cloth seats and other corners cut) I have to stick with my first choice.

In closing, it they both could be had for under $30k and have 325-350 hp, I'd have to run with the Challenger. I love them both, but I remember those '70 Hemi Cuda's and Challengers of my youth. Either way, Ford or Dodge, you'd have a very nice retro ride.

 

Price-wise if you compare to the Charger SRT8 with the 6.1L Hemi, you're looking more at $38-40K. Essentially not in the same market as the GT -- more like the GT500 market.

 

Are you kiddin me? The more retro the better, I love it! Modern cookie-cutter cars are ugly, at least the car manufacturers are starting to catch on that people like the classics

 

 

I like it, Maybe a Hemi Orange Challenger if Ford
doesn't ever offer Grabber Orange again for the Mustang.
