I like the Shelby concept better than the GR1. That is an awesome machine.

At first I liked the GR1 but when I saw what they did with the Star Trek
interior and the mercury paintjob they put on in the March Motor Trend
magazine, it looked like the Hot Wheel that I never played with.
The Shelby Cobra has really grown on me.

So whats the real deal with this car? Is it going to be produced or are has the GR-1 become the replacement? I wasnt a fan of the GR-1 at all. Exotic and all that but nothing special but the roadster. Amazing! I wish theyd produce it.

I like it better than the GR1 but frankly I'd rather have one of the replicars. The best I've found is at www.superformance.com

I think the most current speculation I read was that the GR-1 was developed to give the line more breadth ... the Cobra concept would be too expensive to produce by itself, but by putting the roadster and the GR-1 coupe both on the same production line (the one the GT currently occupies) they could justify the costs by diversifying production a bit.
I don't know how true that is, but that's the last thing I read. The Cobra is the better of the two IMO, but it needs to keep costs down. I'd like to see it in Viper range, personally.
