Exhaust sound, your opinion is it addicting?

I was just thinking of how the exhaust sounds driving down the road, And for the first time I thought Wow, I think this noise is addicting me to want to drive harder and faster.
I wonder if anyone has ever did a scientific test to try and determine if the roar of the Gt is addicting?.........I bet it is
What do you think

Absolutely. I seldom listen to the radio. It definitely entices harder acceleration

I had my flowmasters off for awhile. Man, I really missed them. Firing it up after I put them back on made me smile real big.

Why did you remove the Flows?

Even the stock exhaust is addicting I think. IMO the BEST sounding FACTORY exhaust setup on the market today.

Had to get some warranty work done elsewhere on the car. Didn't want them to give me grief over aftermarket mods.

+1 for the factory setup.

My wife wonders why I like to drive with the stereo off.
(She wants Corsas.)

You mean it has a stereo too?
I'll have to try that while it's off the road for the winter.

My girlfriend thinks it's bizarre that I sometimes fold down my rear seats so I can hear the exhaust louder through the trunk.

It speaks to the soul, if you cant hear the message then you deserve to drive a prius!

As for addicting, yes take the Jag XJ13, caught a video clip of the car from C&D, it is perhaps the best V12 I've ever heard. http://www.earthflix.com/stories/jag_xj13.php

I think I need to find an endless Pikes Peak to keep the exceleration constant to hear the roar of the engine. Da*m speed limits keep it too low.
Just want to excelerate. When I get on it in the city can't get out of 2ed with out going over the 10 the locals give.
Hope when the strip opens up I have enough room ......
This is heroin with octane.

Darn right! Converted a relative a mine from ricey-thought to wanting to have a V8-engined car just for the sound.

I don't think I've ever heard that, do you have a link to a video somewhere? I've seen the car before, but don't remember what it sounds like.

Also, I guess I should have specified...best factory exhaust for under $350,000.

Mustang Enthusiast had an article about sound a few years agoish. Talked about how Ford spends alot of time and money engineering every sound, from the exhaust to the "pfft" from opening the trunk. How sweet is that

Oh and for the record, you know not addicting exhaust untill you run open headers

Even though I drive a ratty 92 Maxima, I love a good exhaust tone, and wish it could be more growly/loud a la a muscle car.
Having an Aston Martin sound coming out of my car's rear would be heaven
