Does anybody consider the 4.6 large displacment
The Ford 4.6l is huge! It has enormous deck height thanks to the fact that it has the same stroke as a 427 big block! It's a huge engine in physical size because of the enormous heads and large stroke. The LS2 is tiny compared to it. The mod motor also quiet heavy.

It woun't help. I will have to pay full taxes to get norwegian plates anyway. (It isn't legal to drive around with german plates either).

Find the country in the EC with the lowest import duties / vat and import your car to there!
Actually Norway is an associated member of the EC, and part of the four freedoms (with certain exeptions). But you still can't export car freely in between EC, yet. Denmark, for example, has even higher taxes on cars than Norway, and they are full members.
I know there is movement in Bruxelles to equalize all taxation on cars, but it will still take several years until this will take effect. However, when the law has been ratified, it will also be valid in Norway.
Sorry for highjacking the tread. :P

A state of the art 5.0 pushrod motor would have been nice.
Something along these lines would have been real sweet.
A siamesed 4.00" bore aluminum block designed for a max stroke of 3.00", raise the cam and lower the deck and make it a Y block like the 4.6.
Lop .090 off the connecting rod and push the pin and ring package up further on the piston for an even lower deck height)
All that so you could design some killer heads with nice high intake and exhaust ports, dump the distributor and drive the oil pump off of the crank. that way you wont have to compromise the intake manifold.
oh well, again back to reality.
