Wow. If they really do make that car that powerful, and don't add awd, it'll be insane.....and not in a good way.

AWD is already an option on the Avenger.

Which makes this even more incredible. Perhaps the Dodge faithful are assuming that there will be no awd simply because they haven't heard that it is and don't wish to assume anything? Or, potentially, the car is simply a wishful figment of somebody's imagination.

Either way, the fact that anybody would build a ~400hp car on a fwd chassis which already offers awd as an option, but not include that in the deal, is just inexplicable. I know that Dodge did much the same with the Caliber SRT4 claiming that the awd system simply wasn't up to the task. But that car is packing around 100hp less so it's a bit more excusable.

Yeah, FWD on a 400hp car will lead to accidents probably. Or quickly replaced tires.

But it won't happen. It'd cut too much into the Chal, Char and Vipe.

Goood fund. Looks like the Magnum SRT8 is gone in 2010, but the good news is that in 09 the SRT8's finally get the Viper 6-speed

Wow, that much power in a FWD car would just be plain stupid. I can't see that information being correct...

Exactly. Any of these projects - including Challenger - could easily get the axe as Cerberus Capital Management tries to make good on its promise to get the company back to profitability. Low volume, minimal margin cars like Challenger could easily end up on the chopping block.

If that happened, I'd go down to a local Dodge store, and watch the many people who left deposits leave dejected knowing their dreams of a new Challenger are gone! Plus, the salespeople would be REALLY miffed knowing their dreams of MAJOR ADM's on this car are dashed. Trust me, Dodge dealers will mark the crap out of this thing, when (or if) it arrives.
