Looking at the tech, he's not clearly saying "GO FREAKING RIGHT" with enough gusto. He's using his right arm, straight up, with his *THUMB* sticking out, and pointing to the right. That's just... lax. You'd think they'd train them to have a little more... oopmh, if you will, in telling a driver how to move left/right.
But having said that, the guy obviously is looking at the front of the car, not the driver's eyes. First thing to do is to check where the driver is looking, and attempt to have them stop until you see their eyes. I know I don't wanna be in front of a car giving directions to a person who's more interested in their phone, for example.
And finally, the driver clearly needs lessons, in that "flailing of arms"="STOP THE CAR RIGHT NOW!!!11!1!eleventyToyotas".
But they're obviously old. Er, I meant, "Old School". Where "flailing of arms"="50 points if you run them run over." *PUNCH IT MARGARET!!!*
/Love that game.
//How much are wheelchair riders?
///The whole thing is stupid.
////Driver probably also uses the left side of the exits too, amirite?

It kind of looks like to me that the driver either hit the gas instead of the brakes accidentally, or their foot slipped off the brake and they couldn't find the brake because it looks like they all of a sudden jerk and start accelerating. I really don't think the tech had anything to do with the driver error.
Being clear: The captain is in charge of the ship, no matter what, and in that respect, fully driver fault. If you can't handle this slow driving situation with correct spatial awareness and full control of all vehicluar controls, you probably need to park it.
But it still is kinda amazing the non-chalant way he was letting that person know "go my right, your left." It just seems... messed up.
Which makes sense, now! The driver did exactly what he said: Go right. Just didn't flip it around.
