DCM Confirms Chrysler Unit For Sale
It's time to roll this wreck of a company into the history books. I mean, have you SEEN the products they've been trotting out recently?
- The Crossfire was a joke that never caught on.
- The Pacifica never sold very well.
- The PT Cruiser is ugly.
- The traditional minivan market is now blowing goats, 'cause after all these years, no one wants to be caught driving an "uncool" minivan anymore; CUVs are taking over from that market.
- The 300 has begun to languish.
- Charger: not bad, but I don't see many on the road - better for fleets and cops.
- Magnum: never really took off. Don't see many of those, either.
- The Nitro is the ugliest looking POS since GM's Aztec abomination, IMHO.
- The Viper has LONG overstayed its welcome.
- The Sebring, well...<yawn>...I saw one once and almost fell asleep at the wheel. Caliber, Avenger...? Who cares?
- The Imperial concept (which they say now that they're gonna build) was a monstrosity of pilfered design cues.
Their only exciting vehicle is the Challenger concept, and it's not even out yet...and even once it is, can you say "niche vehicle"?
I'm sorry, but Chrysler's time has passed...

The LX cars brought RWD V8's back into prominance, and have sold very well overall.
Like it or not the PT has sold well.
Their light trucks are very competitive to GM and Ford.
They are months away from debuting the Challenger.
Two years ago DC was the darling of the big 3 and won coty honors for the 300.
Sure, there's some chaff in their model line up, but the same can be said about Ford & GM. Not nessecarily bad cars, but just not very memorable.
I don't know call me sentimental, but I'd hate to see any American or pseudo American car company with a legacy like Chrysler go away.
