Yeah right.
Dodge recalls over 20,000 Charger and Magnum cop cars

You kids may not remember 'cause it was before you were born...
Back when I started driving...
The Ford police cars (and regular cars) used to slip into reverse if you left them running in park.
Lots of laughs at the Cab stands and Police departments.
Our local cops would only buy GM vehicles until they stopped building the Caprice.

Simple fix and the Crown Vics have had their share of issues. We use Crown Vics on my department, so I can say that from experience.
Our cops love them and the state guys I have talked to like them better than the vics also. The only complaint I have heard them mention is that the interior is not quite as roomy. Otherwise they have all raved about the better performance of the Chargers.

Crown Victoria's are used because they are built for hard driving with better suspension, brakes and motor. They do have their share of problems particularily if they are kept in service beyond the recommended three years. Prior to my retirement this year we received four new Crown Vic's. It would appear that as long as FORD keeps building them, they will be the mainstay of the department.

I'm not sure what you mean by "better suspension"? The Charger uses IRS and has superior handling capability...the suspension and power were two areas that we felt the Chargers clearly were superior to our CV's.
