Inverters R Us sent their 400-watt power inverter for Project Source Horse, which will allow me to run the laptop at shows without a generator or million-foot extension cord. It's only 7" long by 4" wide by 1.75" tall, so it hides away under the passenger seat. It comes with cables that either plug into your power point or connect directly to your battery. The 400-watt unit has two outlets and is powerful enough to run a laptop, video game system, television, cell phone charger, etc. They have larger, more powerful models that can run fridges and stuff. The 400-watt unit is only $35!

Awesome, I've used a 75w power invertor before and they are a godsend, this should be great in PSH!

I have one we bought for my wifes explorer. They are extremely handy. Does this one wire directly into the car and become a permanent fixture?

The one I have is "portable" so it plugs into the poer point, and the wire is a bit unseemly.

I'm going to see if Paul can hide the cables, but still allow me to disconnect the unit and transfer it easily.

This may sound ignorant but I ask it about everything... any adverse effects with these?

We had one for several years now.
My wife can use her laptop while we're taking long roadtrips.

Only side effect we ever had was that the box can get very hot,
be careful what you put under or on top of it.
