And all that for under $23,000.

Faster than Audi S5, BMW M5, Nissan 350Z ...

The class is to put in perspective how fast. Nothing in it's class goes that fast around the ring. Shows me its more than just a standard cobalt with a turbo.

Wow, impressive! Perhaps in this coming era of 35mpg CAFE and more stringent EPA, this is the new muscle car of sorts.
At least it's fast, if FWD, which is quite unlike the first era of stringent CAFE/EPA in the '70s where pretty much nothing was fast anymore.
While no beauty queen either, though not ugly-just plain, it would make for the perfect sleeper/Q-ship flying under the cops radar/attention screen.

Uh, yeah OK it's a standard Cobalt with body mods, slight suspension tweaks, and a turbo. LOL how's that?

Cobalt has a fantastic chassis and has been consistently under-rated in this regard since it's inception. The turbo model simply lets the chassis show how good it really is. In fact, I have no doubt that the Cobalt's chassis is fundamentally superior to that of the Opel Astra, and not by a small margin. Unfortunately the Cobalt's packaging, inside and out, still does it's best to hide all that goodness.

Try the same in the regular cobalt and get back with me on that K?
The whole engine is different not just the 2.0 with a turbo slapped on it. its a 2.2 DI Dual scroll turbo motor. Suspension tweaks are enough to pull at least .88 on a skidpad which is slightly higher than what your car did stock.

Yeah, weight can be offset by better design. I know my buddy's Z3 M coupe weighs more than my Bullitt, but I also know that when the road gets curvy he can leave my rump in the dust.
Faster than an M5 around the 'Ring! I never woulda thunk it...but you can't take that away from them, neither.
Kind of embarrasses a stock Mustang GT, doesn't it?
