I watch the shows a lot of the time and I knew that they used to work together but I've never heard the real reason for breaking apart.

Well from what I can tell, foose wanted to move on to do his own thing. I think he saw the oppurtunity to move on to bigger and better things. he was living in Boyd's shadow and now he's way above it. Plus if you watch "American Hotrod" you can tell they work under stressful conditions alot. I personally could not work like that. Pay more attention to Overhaulin or any other show you watch about chip next time. You may getting lucky and notice a couple boys that have been on Americsn Hotrod before. Boyd's best painter, charlie, left boyd and now works for Chip. Charlie was boyds paint supervisor and chip also has boyds old fabricator supervisor also. I forget his name. he's a young guy. Thats wut I think is happening with that whole thing

Boyd, IMO, has really fallen by the wayside. His design concepts are really just played out versions of what he has done before.

Foose, although many of his designs I simply do not like, at least seems to take some chances and try and come up with new ideas, or different takes on old ones.

I think Foose is breaking more ground in the custom world, thus, the attraction for former Boyd employees to jump ship and get on board with Foose.
