motor trend says that rumors around detroit hint that the plans for a Ford GT replacement seem to have been axed in favour of investing in cars that make more money.

 

There have only been rumors of a Judge as far as I know. They did a Judge concept but I believe it was a one off show car and not an actual design concept (but I could be wrong!).

 

It's almost as hideous as the back end.

This would be just the car for Sonny crocket if they start making "Miami Vice" episodes again. Vette people are a little different. Ever notice they seem to spend a lot of time looking around to see who is looking at them??

 

I thought when Pontiac was planning the Judge they were planning on using the 6.0L V8. Instead of having the base GTO with the 5.7 and the Judge with the 6.0, they just made the 6.0 the standard engine and keep the GTO as is otherwise. Oh and plus those wonderful hood scoops. However, I could be wrong.

well, i heard that the GR-1 was a way of ford admitting the cobra was a little off, so they made something prettier, and now that darn hot car (the GR-1) is supposedly not gonna see the light of day. I always liked the cobra concept though, i think it would be sweet. I'd really like ford to at least put something in that $90K to $140K bracket, and have it kick hiney.

I meant i want THIS chop to become a reality, But i think the GR-1 concept should also be a reality, my uncle saw it at the NYC auto show and said he loved it, but he didnt think the FORD GT is worth 140k.

 

Thats where I saw the GR-1, beautiful car. IMHO if I had the money I would buy the Ford GT. They are actually under-rated for power. They put out more like 600-615 HP.

This article was a bunch of BS that is the Z06 Mule that they have been testing in Germany. There is a blurb about it in the new Motor Trend with a pic of the exact same car. The article about it is set for next month.

 

Dealers have Ford GT'S that are "Priced to move at 20k over sticker", and there aer places with even bigger markups. :notnice: Outrageous

As for the Horsepower, it wouldn't be surprising to see them put out their rated bhp at the rear wheels

 

This blows me away.

You have the LS2 vette, very nice and fast (like C5 Z06 fast) which isn't anything to sneeze at....

Then you have the C6 Z06, which is CRAZY fast LS7 505hp awsome bang for buck ...pretty much supercar...

Now, you want something bigger and faster than that???? That some Z06 owners won't be able to afford??!?!

Newsflash...take that developement cash and throw it into something the masses will buy (or at least the F-Bod faithful)

And in the end..its still a vette...its a crazy fast awsome vette, but still..... a vette.

Thats not a bad stab, but its SO connected with its brethren that nothing short of making it completely different....will change how people view it.
You would see it on the street, and think 'meh...vette'
It would whip your tail...but it STILL doesn't have that mystique that an exotic has....

People see an Aston, or Ferrari, Ford GT, Viper, Lambo, Bentley etc etc..and you KNOW you got something special.....
Even my CAR buddies don't know what a Z06 really distinguishes it, they have to look at the badge...
