A crossover version of the Volt. Works for me, though I hate the enormous fender flares.

I was actually cross-shopping the Volt with the Mustang GT. However the Volt still isn't available, and I couldn't give up my Mustang roots. Nevertheless, I'd still like to diversify my transportation energy sources some day. I don't like having all of my eggs in the oil basket.

I like the idea of the Volt and it just seems to make sence there would be a crossover version to some type of utility vehicle. I think my only problem is with the limited range. My understanding is that even with the engine to recharge the battery there is a point at which the engine can not produce enough power to keep the car moving. For someone like me with a 100+ mile commute per day this technilogy will never work. I wish the auto manfacturers would put more resourcses into technology like Hydroden. Because a Hydroden powered car is just like the car of today.

My understanding is that the Volt engine has no trouble keeping the batteries sufficiently charged. However, the benefits of this or any other type of Hybrid is somewhat limited with a long commute.

I kinda like it. Sans the gigantic fender flares. The HHR (aka the me too cruiser, lol) wishes it looked like that.
