Chevrolet Spark Hatchback Coming to the U.S.
It’s official: Chevrolet will sell the Spark subcompact in America. The long-expected announcement was made by way of the Twitter feed of Chevrolet spokesman Jason Laid. The announcement wasn’t entirely surprising, as we expected the Spark to arrive on our shores in mid-2012 as a 2013 model. The car is already on sale throughout Asia, Europe, and South Africa. It’s based on the Korean-market Daewoo Matiz and when it arrives here, the Spark will continue to be built in South Korea.
The Euro-market Spark is offered with a choice of 1.0- or 1.2-liter gasoline inline-four engines, which produce 67 hp and 80 hp respectively. They are mated to a five-speed manual transmission and return the equivalent of about 46 mpg. It’s rumored that the U.S. market will score a 1.2- or 1.4-liter engine that returns about 40 mpg.
At just 143.3 inches long and 62.9 inches wide, the Spark hatchback is a foot longer than the petite Scion iQ and about three inches shorter than a Mini Cooper. With five doors and five seats, Chevrolet says the Spark’s interior is space-efficient and doesn’t feel cramped.

I would rather drive Spark than a Smart or Toyota iQ.
I kinda like it. Add a small diesel engine (like a 1.3L from Aveo/Sonic) and it will be averaging 70 mpg easily ...

I would rather drive a Fiesta or Mini Cooper. This car is just strange looking, love how they much like other companies have included a lime green color, just like the Fiesta.

that car is all headlights

Loris, we have found your car.
While the headlights are a bit big, it does look like a nifty youth-oriented urban car, presuming it has reasonable spunk and agility. At least it isn't the typical mundane penalty/econo-box usual dawdling out of GM in the past.

This car is below Fiesta and all new Chevy Sonic (former Aveo) because it's much smaller. In Europe this is Chevy's competitor to Ford Ka, Smart Fortwo, Fiat 500, Kia Picanto, Citroen C1, Hyundai i10 ... Basically, this class is called "city car" and Fiesta and similar sized vehicles are "subcompacts".
In my opinion, Ford should follow up with the Ka. I saw few of them during my recent trip to Greece and I gotta say they look quite nice.

Ahhh, I forgot about that Ka. I went to my Ford dealer just to see that Lava Red and they only had one Fiesta and 2 of the Focus, they are selling big time! But they also only had 10 Mustangs on the lot and 2 of them were GT's.

Must be nice to see Mustangs on the strees and at dealerships. Only Fords that I see around here are 10 year old Mondeos and Focus' and even older Sierras (from the 1980s).
Cosworths are pretty nice.
