Well said, lets face it. Ford picked a great era to model the S197 after. I think it would be hard to do again. I'm not sure that there is another era of Mustangs that Ford could go retro with and have any luck. Maybe the fox body in another 20-25 years, and I'm not sure even that would fly.

That's the truth

Man, That is sure the truth, I haven't cared for a single Mustang body between 1973 and 2005. Hum... That just might be why the last Mustang I owned was a 1971...

I dunno, i still think the New Edge design (99-04) was ahead of its time and still looks sexy nowadays. I bet they could take that edge and go more modernized with it and create a sleek and more refined designed taking cues off the SN95s. But I'm partial because I've always liked the New Edge design era (99 Cougar and the first Focus come to mind).

I think Ford has out done thereselves...where do you go after retro? I didn't care too much for the Italian version of the stang...they could prob use some styling cues but not all of it..Retro only lasts so long before it..well, gets old. Ford better have a good backup plan for the design of the new Mustang cause right now the '10 design will either make it..or break it...hopefully not the latter..The S197 is a awesome design to remake all the cool Mustangs of the late 60's that had an significant impact on the gearheads of the day..
