Not bad but honestly 425 hp and low 13's for a top model. Should be easy kills in ther regular 345 hp flavor then. Great trap speed maybe it spins a bit but a 4.8 0-60 doesn't indicate very much spinning.

let's clarify. Those are times for the 08 automatics with no LSD and the 3.06 rear, and I'll bet they left the ESP on.

The 09 "regular hp flavor" is not 345hp...it's 380hp/400tq.The 5.7 gets revised for 09 with better heads, and VCT, etc. Moreover, both motors have a 3.90 & LSD option, which will produce even better times than the low 13's. Now...do you want to hear about the 6.4 hemi for '10?

09's and 10's are not available. Right now what is available is Automatic. . What you can buy now is what was tested. When the others are available we will see what it produces and the times produced. You speak of an 08 like it was yesterdays news. When we see them on the streets they will be 13 second cars in this trim unless some of the "optional" ones get 3.90's. When they get revised we shall see. But my bet is not too **** many will get the 3.90's if those 3.06's only get 13/18 mpg. That is horrible with a 3.06 gear. The first cars we see on the streets for the most part should be low 13 sec cars stock. DR's will probably put them in the high 12's with that trap speed. Can't say yet right now we have a 425 HP auto car running low 13's. I haven't seen in any article about the gears and LSD part yet.

4.8 0-60 without LSD? You have to show me about that one. It would peel the one tire all the way down the track. I've had 400 hp cars with an open 3.08 gear and it would spin the one tire almost a whole 1/8th mile and if they had the trac on there is no way an open dif even with esp would hit that 0-60 time.

Sure I'll bite what about this 6.4? (not in a sarcastic way mind you honestly curious).

In a sense the 08 is yesterday's news. It's a small run, and 09's are available late summer/fall. Still a basement 13 is darn respectable, and as I said I doubt they know how to getthe most out of the ESP.

As for the 09's, the 6-speed is going to make a difference, and I highly doubt the cost of a little mpg is going to prevent somone from checking that option.

The 6.4 hemi is already a production engine from Mopar Performance parts. Right now it is scheduled to go into the '10 Challenger SRT8, and power output is reportedly 500+.

Are we comparing these to the Mustang? How many years advance do I get to go? The current GT500 is faster than this thing, and the 2011 is gonna, well, you'll see..

Basement 13's is respectable no doubt. With a set of DR's stockers will probably hit 12's especially with a tune. I would have preferred the top model to be quite a bit faster if it were my ship to sail but different strokes I guess. The six speeds will increase times I'm sure as will the 3.90's if traction can be obtained. My best guess would be 12.8's at 108/109 on the six speed 3.90 models. But with such a low trans gear 3.90's would be a b**** to hook.

I differ a little on the gas situation. SS trailblazers had optional 4.10 gears and were equipped on less than 5% of the models because of this. The Jeep SRT-8's horrible gas mileage is probably another reason (just a guess admittedly) I have yet to see one on the street or track in person yet, even though it is the fastest SUV/Truck available hands down. Which sucks because I want to see one in person and no local Jeep dealer has one.

500 NA? wow nice Gotta read up on that one.

I wouldn't be surprised if plans for that model get quashed in short order - in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of things change over the next 24 months...and here's why. There's NO way a business case can be made for cars like this at that point. Something's gotta give, and I predict it will give in the next two years.

Sadly, I tend to agree.
