Mopar muscle was generally found in big cars. The original Challenger/Cuda was a compact compared to the GTX, Road Runner and Charger of old.
I tell you what, I'd *love* to be able to afford a new Challenger along with my Mustang. My family has been driving Mopars for at least four generations (which is why I kept the Jeep!).......

I have to hand it to the pessimistic Camaro guys. They make sure their glasses are always half empty no matter what.
Persistance is alive and well in Camaro Land.
If that's true, it'll be as big as the original car. Somehow I think that guy's chops are a little off. It may seem easy to match up size ratios to the real world using pixels, but it never quite translates properly. No way the car is THAT much bigger than an 05 Mustang (which itself is about a half-inch longer than a current Acura TL) and I seriously doubt it's longer than a Magnum. Someone's mis-crunched their numbers I think because it sure didn't look that big next to a person in the first spy shot we saw. Over at Autoweek they said this: "Compared to the original 1970 Challenger—the styling inspiration for the new car—the concept is six inches shorter and two inches wider."
On the other hand this article has great pics and the thing still looks dead sexy! And they say it COULD be in showrooms by 2007.

There seems to be some contradictions in the automotive press about the length of the car, is what I'm saying, contradictions born out when you eyeball the original spy photos.

Looks like the fans of this new Challenger have their own dedicated website now (complete with one of Burningman's illustrations!):

That's only a year move-up, and seeing as how the platform/engine is ready, that's not a unreachable goal.
