I really don't understand why GTI is on the list. There are so many other cars better than GTI in that same class.

I too would take off the VW. Price of this car, the "issues" quality from owners, and other cars that are a better value, would have kept it off the list IMO.

I might have swapped out the MazdaSpeed 3, but the GTI is very nice overall package and that DSG gearbox alone takes it up quite a few notches at least. From what I understand, VW is improving a lot on the reliability front, which was a big problem a few years ago.

It was still a problem earlier this year when I briefly worked across the street from a VW dealership and was treated to a near-constant parade of VWs being towed back to the service department.

I'm wondering why the fit or VW myself...Civic Si instead but I'm partial..
