Car Cost vs. Gas Mileage Calculator
I find my stang on the highway gets 24-25mpg still even despite the mods I have. That's pretty reasonable. As long as I don't go crazy in the city (pretty hard) I'll still get close to 20MPG, certainly better than the plethora of trucks and SUV around here. I just drove my Stang down to Victoria where I'm moving and my trip computer showed 9.4l/100km which is 25mpg. On parts where I was running through the rockies at high altitude and running at 120-125kph it went to 9.9l/10l / 100km.
I personally wouldn't set foot in a prius, there are far better alternatives out there that are far better built and only give up a few MPG.

Good topic even all these years later. It never makes sense to sell your Mustang or any muscle car for better fuel mileage cars unless you are just tired of the muscle car scene. I'm on a fixed income, and in these inflationary times you wonder if perhaps one of my cars should be sold for something more practical. The answer is a resounding, NO. The permanent frown on my face after selling a sweet ride for an appliance would never go away.
To be honest, life is too short, and I'd rather go in debt if necessary.than be without my rides. You have to be happy. They are that important to me.
