Probably by doing yet another total redesign on the F-series truck! Anybody see the new tundra? I hear its hideous as hell but well equipped with a 381hp/401tq 5.7 DOHC VVT V8 available in all configurations (neo lightning anyone when placed in the smallest/lightest chassis configuration).

I think it looks great. If it didn't cost a lot more than F-150, I would probably be driving Tundra instead of F-150.

I believe the Camaro will need at least 2 years of full production to equil the Mustangs first year sales and (like its predecessor) never reach the annual sales that the Mustang achieves.

I also question GMs ability to pull together a car that:

A) Looks as good and presents as well as the concept
B) Won't be heavier than they report
C) Will be priced similarly to the Mustang

If they somehow manage to put together 400hp, sub-3800lb weight and IRS AND make it reliable, ANNND make it base for $28,000 or less it will be quite an accomplishment.
I do not anticipate they have the ability to do this.

It will if it's mass exported to Europe...which appears to be GM's intention.

A) They did it the with Pontiac and Saturn roadsters...and the Buick Enclave...and, it appears, with the forthcoming CTS
B) Hard to say...
C) It won't be, at least not in V8 configuration. It will be more expensive.

I don't think they're trying to build a Mustang clone. I think they're trying to build a BETTER pony car that corrects everything that is presently wrong with the current Mustang; offers more refinement; a better suspension; and more power - all targeted at those who would like a muscular American pony car, but want greater refinement, and would be willing to pay the same money that would otherwise put them in a 350Z or cars in that price point.

the car looks allright but its just a concept car , i still wouldnt buy it though , it kinda reminds me of the 69 camaro , i wonder how much space they have in the backseat , if gm takes this car to europe it will fail

1. its too big
2.MPG will be horrible

imagine everytime you go to a pump you would have to pay close to a hundred euros to fill up .

Lots of cars in Europe are bigger than the new Camaro.

No worse than Ferraris or Lambos, or Porsches, or the BMW M5, or the Audi RS4, etc, etc, etc.

If they can make the car look similar to this, which I believe they will. You can count on stong sales. I agree with BC on that this car may be trying to compete with the 350Z and to be honest for that kind of money I would rather buy this new Camaro then a yucky Z. with the current state of the American auto industry I doubt GM is really looking at the Mustang as its major competition, this is not 1969. The Mustang in it's current form is true to it's roots but I think GM is targeting more then just the "pony car" market.
