I know the intake is almost $500. Headers $1800 and the cat back was $630. Cam kit around $800 i think. Not sure about the rest.

Wow. So probably around $4K for everything. He probably added around 100RWHP for $4K. That's a lot of cash for not a lot of horsepower in my opinion.

The Procharger he was looking at was over 7K. He dynoed 315rwhp stock. The auto's are losing anywere from 75-90 hp through the drivetrain.

I wonder how well the Camaro respond's to being S/C'ed? For about 7K you can add 200 RWHP to the base Mustang GT RWHP numbers (give or take). If the Camaro has a similar gain, another 3k could have gotten him around 515+RWHP. I think I would have saved for the extra 3K and gone that route. As it is now he does not have many other options for more power, other than going internal to the block or forced induction. I wonder if the cams he has gone with would will with a S/C? He would also have to give up the $500 intake If he were to go S/C'ed.

Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to bash his decision just thinking out loud and wondering what the biggest bang for the buck is.

I wonder how much the Camaro engine will take in an FI setup. We all know that 450rwhp on the 4.6 is reasonably safe, and 500rwhp is danger zone for the 4.6. What will the Camaro take? What's the weak link?

So Ice Man does that mean you like walking in the danger zone?? (que the Top Gun sound track)

Back some months ago a guy on here had the 550HP Ford Racing kit installed on his GT/CS at Tasca, with just that kit and an aluminum DS installed he was putting 495HP to the ground. Tasca said that was the most they had ever seen out of a stock 4.6 on the Ford Racing tune.

Now I agree that 500HP is dangerous for the 4.6 but why does FORD or all people build the highest HP kit for the Stock 4.6 and sell it knowing it could almost certainly destroy their cars/engine?

Oh and incase anyone cares I'm hollding off on the S/C from Brenspeed because I am waiting on quotes from other places. And with the plan of engagement I don't think this is the time to spend 7K-8K. I really need to sell my motorcycle to buy it. ........Anyone want to but a really nice 2003 Honda Valkyrie???

I would say that you should expect similar specific output. So if the 4.6 does about 510bhp thats 110hp/L so a 6.2 with 110hp/L would be 682hp.

You could always buy it for 4k and keep it boxed up in the garage for 6 months.

I wonder how some test auto's were running 13 flat stock when most are dynoing at 310/315rwhp and the car weighs 3900lbs. Were they freaks?

hp/weight doesn't tell the whole story. gearing of the car, how quick the transmission is, i don't remember if they said if they used launch control or what psi the tires were, track could have been preped good. the power curve of the engine should also be quite good.

There are several tuners with 600 + RWHP already, havent heard of any blown yet because of it.

That price is crazy right now because parts prices are way inflated. When they start becomming norm they will drop. I paid alot less for alot more on my LS1. Cam kit, headers, stall, intake, moser 9 with locker, rebuilt and beefed up trans etc for about 4.5k. $1800 for headers is nutso.

Yep. Hell my camaro dynod a little over 360 to the wheels but could put down low 11's easily. Dyno numbers should be a tuning tool and not a performance test bench.

Have not seen many stock though run 13 flat at the track or even on you tube. Most are running mid 13's to even mid 14's. With 15% loss should not the Auto be putting down 340rwhp? Why the #s so low on most?

No Idea. Couple I have seen/heard were in the 330-340 area dyno. Tell your buddy to get a stall though I garuntee he'll have a bigger permagrin than he did with those mods.
