C&D First Test for the ZL1
You should see camaro5, they are celebrating, meanwhile when someone compared the GT500 to the SS, that's off limits!
That place is full of delusional fanboys, they are counting this as a win, but try to bring up how they didn't want the gt500 compared to the SS and your post will get deleted!!!!
So the ZL1 pulled off a win against an NA car with 136 less horsepower? NO WAY!!!!

Chevy is always late to the party with their pony cars.

Camaro ZL1 is new so it had to win ... it's a typical story with new cars that Motor Trend test, they always use much cheaper and less powerful competition ... few months from now, when ZL1 is not so hot anymore, we'll find out the truth about it.

Heh, good point. I remember several months ago when Motor Trend first tested the then-new Boss Mustang. They had nothing but great things to say about it; in fact, it placed ahead of some pretty high-profile competition (including a Beemer and the latest Corvette Z06 Z07 among others) in their "2011 Best Driver's Car." Like you said, give it a month or two.
I guess my 55 age is showing. I want to drive my car. I want to be a great driver than knows his machine - by sound and feel - quirks and all.
Whereas judging what gets the attention in the car world lately, it seems that new drivers want a spaceship type experience where they push some buttons and let the computer drive on semi-auto pilot while they lolly gag out the window or on their device.
I WANT communication with my machine. I WANT to be in charge of my car.
I WANT to throttle steer when I choose. Choosing and keeping a line from a combination of gear choice, rpm range, and throttle steer - not from a computer making choices for me.
I WANT to be a DRIVER - not a computer geek that pushes a pedal or button and then doesn't need to pay total attention because the "little box has got it". Might as well just play a video game.
And back in the day many NA guys would dis Ford's use of superchargers (me incl). I didn't see too much downplaying of Cam's supercharger vs the Boss' NA in this apples and oranges comparison. Yet the Boss was right on Camaro's heel even though NA was less powerful.

This is from another site, "Its interesting that just when the new top gm car comes out Randy Probst suddenly losses 2.5 seconds in the LS around Laguna. His last time he drove the mustang there he ran 1:41.06 which is faster than his current best time in the ZL1 1:41.3." http://www.fordgtforum.com/forums/sh...959#post298959
